March 30, 2023 - CASA and Advocacy Specialist Swearing-In Ceremony

A cohort of six volunteer CASAs and one on-staff Advocacy Specialist was sworn in by Chief Juvenile Court Judge Christopher W. Willis on March 30, 2023.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are trained community volunteers that are appointed by a judge to speak up for the best interests of abused or neglected children who are involved in a juvenile court proceeding.

Prior to being sworn in, CASA volunteers must complete a rigorous background check as well as 40 hours of pre-service training on the National CASA/GAL curriculum, including 30 hours of classroom training and 10 hours of courtroom observation.

Please welcome Jacquelynn Edmonds, Jody Glude, Leslie Jarrard, Alec Menoni, Jodi Phillips, and Susan Simmons-Stevenson, and Wendy Wagner as they embark on their journey with CASA of Forsyth County!
