On July 30, after 33 years of service to the children and families of Forsyth County, Judge J. Russell Jackson is retiring from the Juvenile Court bench.
Judge Jackson attended the University of Georgia and received his juris doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law. Judge Jackson began his legal career as a law clerk for Superior Court Judges Frank C. Mills, III and Richard S. Gault. He was appointed as the first Forsyth County judge to serve fulltime as a Juvenile Court judge.
Many well-wishers attended his retirement ceremony Friday to bid him adieu and to thank him for his many years of dedicated service to Juvenile Court. The Forsyth County Juvenile Bar presented Judge Jackson with a plaque in appreciation of his outstanding commitment and distinguished service.
