Heather N. Dunn has been appointed by the judges of the Forsyth County Superior Court as Juvenile Court Judge, replacing Judge J. Russell Jackson who retired at the end of July. She was sworn in this morning by Superior Court Judge David L. Dickinson.

Judge Dunn began her career in 2009 and has been an assistant district attorney in Forsyth County since March of 2010.
Dunn graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology and earned her juris doctorate from Georgia State University College of Law.
The Juvenile Court is dedicated to serving the residents of Forsyth County by hearing all cases involving allegations of deprivation or unruly conduct of children under the age of eighteen, or delinquency or traffic violations concerning children under the age of 17 found within its jurisdiction. It is to ensure that children whose well-being is threatened shall be assisted, protected and restored, and each child shall receive the care, guidance and control conducive to the child’s welfare and best interest.
