Chief Judge Jeffrey S. Bagley gave closing remarks at the unveiling ceremony of the Veterans Memorial Statue on Saturday. Decorated U.S. Army General John W. Hendrix, retired, who served 36 years of active duty, including several combat tours, was the main speaker. The Legacy of Humanity sculpture, created by local artist, Gregory Johnson, is located on the Forsyth County Courthouse Square.
Saturday was Pearl Harbor Day, observed annually in the United States on December 7th, to remember and honor the 2,403 citizens of the United States who were killed in the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.
